Happy 26th to me.
I’ve also come up with a working title for the story, “The Otherworlders.” Well, I didn’t come up with it, my biffle did and it fits for now.
Here are past excerpts of “The Otherworlders”

“It’s been four hours. Shouldn’t we send some kind of bat signal?” Max asked.
Sarah laughed but didn’t answer. They had watched enough reality shows to give Max a headache. He began drumming his fingers on his knee as Sarah searched through Andie’s DVR for something else to watch.
“I’m going out to find her,” Max stood up facing Sarah.
Sarah shook her head, “Andie’s a big girl. She can take care of herself.”
“What if she ran into one of those moledaemon things? She could be hurt!” Max exclaimed.
“Listen, Max. Andie has trained all her life for this kind of thing. This is a Guardian’s job. She knows what she’s doing, especially if there’s danger. You’re a cop, you can understand that.”
“Sure, but I also have backup just in case. Have you tried calling her?” Max was not going to let this go.
Sarah spoke slowly, “No, Max. Andie has gotten into worse and weirder situations than you can imagine and come out without a scratch.”
“Alright, you can sit here and wait,” Max purposely stomped toward the door.
“Alright, you obviously don’t want to watch another episode of Real Housewives, so let’s go look for her,” Sarah sighed, getting up from the couch.
Max was inwardly relieved. He didn’t even know where to start looking and even though he had his gun on him, he wasn’t particularly confident he could protect himself.
Just as Sarah grabbed her keys, the door flew open. Andie stumbled in.
“Oh my god! What happened to your face?!” Sarah yelled. Max’s face was twisted into a look of horror and shock.
Andie wheeled around to a mirror on her bookcase. She gasped. Her face was as pale as Juergen’s and her eyes were an ice blue.
“It’s the medicine he gave me,” she said touching her face. “Oh jeez. I need to sit down.” Andie crossed the living room and collapsed into her armchair.
“What happened?” Max still wasn’t over Andie’s appearance and approached her with caution.
“Basically, this guy Juergen said someone’s doing some shady shit and released some Moledaemons. The Mole People have been trying to contact The High Council but they haven’t responded. They seem pretty desperate down there. It looks like someone’s purposely causing a disturbance. I had to fight off a sheitoonak and got poisoned in the process,” Andie said all this very quickly.
“That will go away, though, right?” Sarah pointed at Andie’s face.
“In a few hours, I hope,” Andie slumped further into her chair.
“Sleep?” Sarah asked.
“Oh god, yes, please,” Max answered even though the question wasn’t directed toward him.
“I’m gonna leave you guys to it, then.” Sarah said putting her jacket on
“No slumber party?” Andie asked.
“Uh, I’ve got a slumber party waiting for me back at my place. Well…it’s not really a slumber party if you don’t sleep, right?” Sarah smiled.
“Get out.” Andie pointed to the door.
